The Scoping consultation for the new Local Plan ran from 22 June to 17 August 2026.
This is the DCC’s scoping consultation document which contains their rationale plus the consultation questions.

It should be noted that at the time of this consultation the NPPF (National Planning Policy Framework) was the draft version presented for consultation, not the finalised version. Therefore there are some small differences in both the scoping document and the Trust’s response when compared with the final NPPF version.
