The Trust has recently responded to the public consultation on the North East Active Travel Strategy. The proposed strategy aims for active travel to become the natural first choice for short everyday trips and combine it with public transport for longer journeys. To achieve this it outlines plans for a major package of investments in the region’s walking, wheeling and cycling network.
The Trust has made a detailed response which can be seen on the Consultations page. Additionally, in 2022, the Trust made a response to a consultation on ‘Active Travel England’’s role in the spatial planning system.
